Alan dedicated his career to fire and EMS in Clearfield, Layton, North Davis, and beyond. He was an Instructor for the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA), the certifying body for all fire personnel in Utah, and the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (BEMS), which oversees EMS training and certification. Alan also taught at DATC and remains an adjunct professor at UVU through UFRA.

When an injury ended his active service, Alan didn’t stop caring for those around him. With a BS in gunsmithing, he founded 408 Works, a line of precision firearms built for accuracy and legacy. I am the only Black/bi-racial woman gun manufacturer in the United States and created Bougie Builds by Bean, crafting aesthetically pleasing defense and competition pieces for women.
Together, we build more than just firearms—we build trust, safety, and a sense of community.

Since marrying Alan 15 years ago, I’ve become deeply immersed in the fire community—spending over 3,000 days in hospitals, standing side by side with him. Today, Alan and I work together—along with Salt The Wonder Dog—to guide families through Medicare, estate planning, and living benefits.

We’re also proud parents of three boys: our oldest (31) works in the film industry, our middle son (29) serves in Fire and EMS, and our youngest (27) is dedicated to education.

Our mission is simple: to educate first, always—whether it’s about insurance, estate planning, or self-defense. Only then do we see if there’s a fit based on your needs.
We're here to educate families, protect their futures, and make sure no one is financially left behind. We want to ensure what happened to him doesn’t happen to another brother, sister, or fire family.
